Treatment takes one of two forms. A chemical soil barrier with BASF Termidor is laid around the building so termites pass through it and carry it back to the nest. Where the site suits baiting better, an in-ground BASF Trelona system pulls the colony onto a bait that removes it. Both meet AS 3660, and pre-purchase and pre-construction termite work is available too. Anthony’s NSW EPA licence, number 5115417 with the Timber Pest Control endorsement, was issued in 2020 and can be checked on the public register.

Which smell do termites hate?
Plenty of home remedies promise a scent that drives them off, but a foraging colony is not troubled by anything from the kitchen cupboard. The products that work do the opposite of repel: a non-repellent termiticide like Termidor is one termites cannot detect, so they walk through it and carry it back to the nest.
Can you actually get rid of a termite colony for good?
Yes, but not with surface spray, which only scatters workers and lets the colony regroup elsewhere in the house. A Termidor soil barrier or an in-ground Trelona bait reaches the nest itself, and that is what ends a colony rather than moving it on.
